Complaints and Appeals Policy

The Tempus Pontem: Azerbaijan Journal of Archaeology and Anthropology (TP: AJAA) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Authors, reviewers, or readers may raise concerns regarding editorial decisions, the review process, or moral issues in published or submitted work.

Complaints: Complaints should be submitted via the submission system or by sending them to the editorial office via editor@ajaa.az. All complaints will be acknowledged within a reasonable timeframe and handled confidentially.

Grounds for Appeal: Authors may appeal an editorial decision if they believe it was not based on an objective assessment of their work, or if relevant information (e.g., reviewer misconduct, conflict of interest) was overlooked.

Appeals Procedure:

  1. The author must submit a written appeal clearly stating the reasons.
  2. The managing editor will review the case and consult additional independent reviewers.
  3. A final decision of the editor-in-chief will be made and communicated to the author. This decision is not subject to further appeal.

Ethical Concerns: Allegations of research misconduct (plagiarism, falsification, unethical research practices) will be investigated in line with COPE guidelines and TP: AJAA policy (Ethical Principles and Publication Policy | Azerbaijan Journal of Archaeology and Anthropology; Plagiarism Policy | Azerbaijan Journal of Archaeology and Anthropology). If misconduct is confirmed, the journal reserves the right to retract or correct the publication.

Confidentiality and Fairness: All complaints and appeals are handled in confidence, with fairness and respect for all parties involved.
