What is the scope of the journal?
AJAA publishes peer-reviewed articles on archaeology, anthropology, and related disciplines, including archaeobotany, bioarchaeology, epigraphy, numismatics, digital archaeology, and heritage studies.
How often is the journal published?
The journal is published biannually — two issues per year.
What types of submissions are accepted?
We accept original research articles, fieldwork reports, book reviews, short communications, and theoretical discussions related to archaeology and anthropology.
What is the language of publication?
Articles are accepted in English only.
Is there a publication fee?
Currently, no article processing or submission fees are charged.
How can I submit a manuscript?
Manuscripts can be submitted via email or through the online submission system. Please refer to the "Submission Guidelines" page for formatting and instructions.
Is the journal peer-reviewed?
Yes, all submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
Is the journal indexed?
The journal is in the process of being indexed in relevant academic databases. Updated indexing information will be posted on the journal’s homepage.
How can I become a reviewer or editorial board member?
Interested scholars may contact the editorial office via email with a CV and a brief statement of interest.
Can I access past issues online?
Yes. Past and current issues are available in PDF format through the journal’s electronic archive on the official website.
